∞ Apple updates Logic Pro with support for GarageBand for iPad

Apple on Tuesday updated its pro audio application, Logic Pro, adding support for GarageBand for iPad projects.

[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]GarageBand for iPad was released in March, giving musicians a way to create songs on the device. What’s more, you can export the projects to your Mac to use with GarageBand.

Exporting the project is different than just bouncing your tracks from the iPad to a stereo track. By getting the project, you can continue to work on your song and edit any audio, loops or other track data.

Since Logic Pro and GarageBand use the same engine to create projects, Apple made it possible for users to open GarageBand projects in Logic Pro.

That makes a lot of sense since many musicians start songs in GarageBand and then move to Logic for more professional level editing and mixing. With today’s update, you can go all the way from the iPad to Logic Pro.

Logic Pro 9.1.4 and Logic Express 9.1.4 can be downloaded from Apple’s Web site.
